About Us
The work isn't new. The name is.
Pono Ledger Hawaiʻi is the dedicated bookkeeping division of Tax Resolution Services of Hawaii Inc, formerly Tax Services of Hawaii. For more than 15 years, the company has provided bookkeeping services to businesses across Hawaiʻi alongside its tax work.
Over time, bookkeeping became a practice in its own right — with its own team, systems, review process, and standard of care. It deserved an identity of its own.
That is why Pono Ledger Hawaiʻi was created: not as a new company learning the work, but as a dedicated home for experience already built. The name reflects the standard behind the service — books maintained properly, kept in balance, reviewed by a second set of eyes, and delivered on a dependable schedule.
That's not a slogan to us; it's a filing calendar. When required records are received by the agreed cutoff, books are closed by the 5th, receive a second-level review by the 9th, and applicable GET returns are filed according to each client's filing calendar. We're Hawaiʻi-based and built primarily for Hawaiʻi businesses — restaurants, retail, trades, and professional practices across the islands.
Part of a bigger bench
Pono Ledger Hawaiʻi works from the same office as the Enrolled Agents at Tax Resolution Services of Hawaiʻi, who bring more than 40 years of combined tax expertise. When the books suggest a possible tax issue, we flag it promptly. Tax advice, preparation, strategy, and representation are provided under a separate engagement with Tax Resolution Services of Hawaiʻi.
How We Staff Your Books
Two people. One accountable team.
Every bookkeeping engagement is assigned to two people: the bookkeeper responsible for the monthly work and the reviewer responsible for the second-level review.
You will know your team and communicate with them directly through the secure client portal. Your books are not passed through an anonymous queue, and the quality of the engagement never depends on a single set of eyes.
